Welcome to the Journey!

Good morning!

I hope this message finds you well and excited to embark on a new journey of discovery.
Together, we’ll explore the fascinating world of spirits, their impact on our lives, and the incredible universe we call home.

About Me
To start, let me introduce myself. I am a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a BA in Psychology and a BS in Sociology. My academic journey continued at St. Louis University, where I earned a master’s in social work (MSW) in 2002.
Since then, I’ve dedicated my career to mental health, working as a therapist and running my own practice. My experience also includes several years as a Hospice Social Worker, a role that deepened my understanding of the levels of existence we encounter every day.
My path has been shaped not only by my professional experiences but also by deeply personal events.
A Life-Changing Experience
In the mid-1990s, I survived a horrific car accident that profoundly altered my perspective on life.
I woke up unable to move, trapped by a seatbelt I couldn’t unfasten. Miraculously, the person driving was able to release it, and I survived what could have been a fatal injury.
Later, a neurosurgeon informed me that I must have been paralyzed. Yet here I am—walking, talking, and living a full life. The recovery was grueling, filled with pain and sleepless nights, but it was also a journey blessed with moments of grace.
Through this experience, I came to recognize the presence of a Higher Power guiding my life. This
awareness became the foundation of a spiritual journey that continues to unfold.

Saturday Morning Reflections

Saturday morning, as I woke, I found myself in a place of immense peace. It was so profound that it caught my attention, and I didn’t want to leave. There was no stress, no urgent tasks—just a deep sense of calm. It was the kind of peace you feel after completing a big project, when the laundry is done, and the house is clean.
This was the perfect space to connect with the spiritual: guardian angels, spirit guides, and God—whatever you conceive Him to be. It’s in this stillness that the conscious mind quiets, and the subconscious becomes alert and aware. Here, there are no conflicts or barriers, just an open channel for understanding and connection.

Exploring Spiritual Realms
Lately, I’ve been diving deeper into the spiritual side of life, asking questions like:

  • What does the spiritual realm consist of?
  • How does it coexist with the everyday conflicts of life?
  • Is it a free flow of ideas, or does it conform to rigid rules and structures?

These are big questions, and in this blog, we’ll explore them together. Each week, we’ll take a
closer look at one area, expanding our understanding of spiritual awareness.

My Journey
My exploration of spirituality began years ago when I worked with an extraordinary team in Hospice. As a Social Worker, I assisted patients through the dying process. They became my teachers, offering profound insights into the transition from life to death. When I asked questions, they often responded with clarity and wisdom. Their experiences and stories were so powerful that I compiled them in my book, The Final Chapter, a collection of personal accounts from individuals transitioning to another level of existence. New Horizons
Recently, I’ve turned my attention to understanding other aspects of the spiritual realm:

  • Are there spirits that guide us daily, offering wisdom and protection?
  • What is their role in our lives, and how can we better understand their presence?

There are many practices and perspectives to explore, and this journey is about finding what
resonates with your beliefs.

Beginning with “Ghosts”
We’ll start by examining the concept of ghosts—spirits that seem to linger in our world, even as
we go about our daily lives.
They may appear as:

  • Orbs in photos
  • Shadows that move briefly in the corner of your vision
  • Full-bodied apparitions, seemingly real and tangible

Your reaction to these phenomena might range from fear to calm, depending on your personal
history and perspective.

Your Exercise
This week, take some time to reflect on these terms: ghost, spirit, apparition, soul, dearly
departed, and being. Explore their meanings and consider how they fit into your own belief
system.
At this stage, there’s no need to attempt contact or interaction—this is simply about
understanding and laying the groundwork for future exploration.

See You Next Week!
I look forward to continuing this journey with you. Next week, we’ll delve deeper into the
spiritual realm, exploring more concepts and experiences.
Until then, may you find peace and insight in your reflections.
